Sarah Burton and Spanx Features 100’s Influential of the World 2012

The fashion industry hasn’t exactly set this year’s Time 100 compilation from the world’s most influential people alight, however, there are nods for your founder of Spanx Sara Blakely and Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton -- who joins a top-notch group of designers including Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs to get previously featured inside the list.
Selected by editors of america publication, the annual list revealed its top influencers from realms including politics to cinema because of this year on April 18, with all the full list readily available for view

Commenting on Burton’s global impact, actress and fashion icon Nicole kidman praises the designer for that wedding gown she designed for the now Duchess of Cambridge’s nuptials to Britain’s Prince William last April.

“She did the undoable. A royal wedding gown that could never meet the impossible dream. However it did. The entire world gasped in astonishment and sighed in reverie as she made one young woman's fantasy a real possibility for everyone,” gushed Parker.

Meanwhile Blakely, who recently appeared around the cover of Forbes magazine being a “self-made billionaire,” received praise on her behalf famous body shaping undergarments.

“Her business has expanded nearly as quickly as our waistlines, now offering 200 products in 40 countries. She's even developed a line of Spanx for males, nicknamed Manx or Mirdles, and contains found some male consumers who repeat the compression garments ‘really assistance with back pain,’” wrote ABC News correspondent Katie Couric.

Red carpet favorites including Adele, Tilda Swinton and Rihanna also boast in the Time 100, with designer Stella McCartney penning a tribute for the latter and describing her as “one with the coolest, hottest, most talented, most popular, most heard, most followed, most impressive artists at the office today.”

Earlier this year Time also unveiled a particular All-Time 100 Fashion Icons compilation making its top designers, models, muses and photographers since 1923 (the season Time magazine launched). Surprisingly, child stars-turned-designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made their email list, while big-name creatives including Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger and Roberto Cavalli didn't feature.
