Green Color Plus Tartans Include Drama to London Fashion Week

Shimmering being a sea creature, one wearing glittering green paint, a full-length skirt and some strategically-placed feathers loved the catwalk Friday around the first day's London Fashion Week.

Lacking the top names of rivals Ny, Paris and Milan, LFW sells itself because the place to understand the cutting edge of favor, and the show by Fyodor Golan, winners of last year's prestigious Fashion Fringe award, would have been a classic example.

Saving money goddess, painted in the waist upwards and wearing black feathers over her breasts, formed section of a collection inspired by Russian past and updated to the 21st century with skin-tight leathers, fur and metallic shades.

The label's designers Fyodor Podgorny from Latvia and Golan Frydman from Israel designed a sexy, feisty look, adorning the models with nose rings, dramatic bright green eye-makeup, huge silver necklaces and tight Russian plaits.

London's tally of top designers grows every season this also year includes Stella McCartney, who holds a unique presentation on Saturday, and Alexander McQueen's second line, McQ, with a catwalk show on Monday.

Other favourites showing this coming year include Designer, Vivienne Westwood's Red Label, Christopher Kane, Giles and Mark Fast.

Belstaff and Moschino's Cheap and trendy brand is going to be making their debuts over the past weekend.

Corrie Nielsen, the Fashion Fringe 2010 winner, was the type of showing on Friday, presenting a Scottish-inspired number of tartan dresses, skirts and blouses owing greater than a little to Westwood, her former boss.

The highlights with the American-born designer's autumn/winter show were a voluminous, floor-sweeping cape in deep purple Duchess satin as well as a number of feather headpieces, including from pheasants.

The red, green, white and black tartans were complemented with striking tattoos covering section of the models' foreheads.

Turkey's Bora Aksu also prefered face adornments, developing a black lace flower headpiece which echoed floral appliques scattered during the entire collection of soft, feminine shapes in blacks, greys, pastel pinks and creams.
